Hey there.
I'm Rachel (she/her). Founder and owner of Tender Beginnings Counselling.
About Me
I’m a Master’s-level Registered Social Worker with over five years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges and transitions. I am especially passionate about working with people during the perinatal period, including pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own life. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities and frameworks to meet your unique needs, with a lens that is informed by feminist and strengths-based perspectives. This means we consider not only your individual experiences, but also the broader systems, expectations, and pressures that can shape how you feel about yourself and your role in the world.

I’m also a proud mom to two wonderful boys. Motherhood has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. It has deepened my understanding of the perinatal period not just professionally, but personally. I know how layered this stage can be: joyful, overwhelming, beautiful, exhausting, and everything in between.
I started Tender Beginnings Counselling, based out of North Dundas, as a way to bring my passion for supporting individuals during this season of life into a space that also allows me to be present with my own family. Creating something that reflects both my professional values and my personal priorities has been incredibly meaningful to me.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, listening to audiobooks, binge-watching a good show when I get the chance, or relaxing with a cross-stitch project in hand.
